On Saturday, October 26, 2024, the National President of the Naval Officers' Wives Association (NOWA) Mrs Ijeoma Blessing Ogalla organised a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Admiralty Estate, Asokoro, Abuja, as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event aimed to raise awareness about breast cancer and promote early detection. The Special Guest of Honour was Mrs. Oghogho Musa, President of the Defence and Police Officers' Wives Association (DEPOWA). Her presence underscores the collaborative efforts among military officers' wives in addressing health issues affecting women. Also in attendance was Dr. Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi, the Mandate Secretary for Women Affairs of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA). Her participation highlights the government's commitment to women's health and empowerment initiatives. National Presidents and representatives from other sister services were present, reflecting a unified stance on promoting breast cancer awareness within the military and paramilitary community and beyond.
