NOWA @ 59: A Day Out with Widows and Orphans

As part of the vibrant celebrations marking NOWA's 59th Anniversary, the NOWA Abuja Zone, under the distinguished leadership of the National President, Mrs. Ijeoma Blessing Ogalla, organized a heartwarming event titled "A Day Out with Widows and Orphans" with the theme: Grace for a New Beginning. This significant occasion was an embodiment of NOWA's unwavering commitment to supporting widows and orphans within the naval family. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Her Excellency, Distinguished Senator Ireti Heebah Kingibe, representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) constituency, who served as the special guest of honor. In her speech, Senator Kingibe passionately pledged her support for NOWA, emphasizing her dedication to the well-being of widows and orphans. She further promised to collaborate with the association by organizing empowerment programs to provide lasting support and opportunities for the vulnerable. The program was enriched by insightful lectures from distinguished resource persons who shared wisdom on the event's theme, *Grace for a New Beginning*, offering hope and encouragement to the widows. In a beautiful display of compassion, widows were not only treated to a day of inspiration but also received food palliatives and cash grants. These contributions were aimed at alleviating immediate hardships and reaffirming NOWA's ongoing commitment to their welfare. The gesture was a clear reminder that NOWA stands firm in its dedication to supporting these remarkable women and their families, ensuring they are never left behind.
